Job description:
The tasks mainly consist of research in design, with a focus on socio-ecological and post-anthropocentric design methods. You will actively participate in both external and internal networks of the department.
The aim of the position is to contribute to both individual and collaborative design research within the Design after Progress research environment, which inquires into alternative design histories and futures beyond progress-oriented perspectives, to explore socio-ecological justice.
The research environment consists of three design studios and aims to develop knowledge and methods for designing with care for degraded habitats as well as contribute to design education. Your work will be centred in Design Studio Two, where you will explore and implement design projects aiming to develop and test prefigurative methods grounded in participatory design.
An important part of the position is to plan and implement experimental study circles with designers worldwide, in hybrid format to develop prototypes of how design can respond to socio-ecological challenges. The study circles may take place through a combination of digital and in-person meetings. You will also facilitate seminars and critically reflect on your own and the collaborative research projects through publication.
Teaching and supervision, comprising no more than 20% of the total workload, shall be included among your duties.
