The Regenerative Design Manifesto

Design needs to do more than serve humans. It needs to heal, and regenerate. That is why Lotte Nystrup Lund, founder of futurista.dk initiated the creation of a new design manifesto, in cooperation with the Danish association of design professionals, Designdenmark. Curated by Henrik Lübker and Lotte Nystrup Lund the manifesto is the result of a co-creation journey involving more than 100 designers representing diverse design disciplines, and world regions. The manifesto calls on designers to abandon outdated, human-centered approaches and instead acknowledge more-than-human agency, and multispecies life. It introduces five principles calling for a profound shift toward inclusive, and ethical approaches to design – crucial for addressing the value and interconnectedness of all life on earth. The curators of the manifest invite you to further develop and transform the guidelines into new thoughts and new design practices.
