Call for participation: Pop-up living labs

We would like to invite you to take part in a workshop we are leading at NordiCHI, this year taking place in Uppsala, Sweden. Our workshop is called “Pop-up living labs: augmenting physical space to facilitate co-design”  and focuses on one of the key problems connected to living labs: living labs enable development of long-term sustainable collaborations by being heavily embedded in the local context. This embeddedness is both a strength as well as a weakness, as it makes the living labs highly dependent on the available resources at the given space and time. We wonder if we could extend living lab methodology to support encounters where participants are, instead of only where the living lab is?

The goal of this workshop is to experiment with the methodological provocation of “pop-up labs”, temporary established spaces, which enable creativity and collaboration where the relevant stakeholders are. The workshop will be hosted in a hybrid way, where we will combine on-site, hybrid and online activities.

When? 13th October, 2024
